Mindfulness-Based Counselling

At Chippenham Counselling Practice, I integrate Mindfulness into counselling to help clients slow down, notice their thoughts, and reconnect with the present moment. This approach encourages awareness and acceptance rather than self-criticism or avoidance.

Based in Pewsham, Chippenham, I offer both in-person and online counselling for adults aged 18+, providing a calm, confidential space to explore what’s happening in your life and what might help you move forward.

Understanding the Mindfulness Approach

Mindfulness involves paying attention, on purpose, to the present moment, with kindness and without judgement. Many of us live on “autopilot”, caught in repetitive thought loops about the past or future. Mindfulness helps you become aware of these habits and develop a calmer, more balanced way of responding.

How Humanistic Counselling Works in Practice

In counselling, mindfulness might include simple breathing exercises, awareness of bodily sensations, or noticing emotional triggers in real time. The goal is not to empty the mind but to relate to thoughts differently, recognising them as mental events that come and go.
